PaperBridge is a static website. It has no user accounts, no sign-up, and no server-side database recording what you do here. This page explains, plainly, what happens to information when you use the site.
What you type stays in your browser
When you enter an arXiv ID or link, your browser uses it for two things: fetching that paper's public metadata, and building links to the tools in our directory. The metadata requests go directly from your browser to the public services that provide them — arXiv, OpenAlex, and Semantic Scholar. Those services receive the paper ID you asked about, as they would for any visit; because PaperBridge is served as static files, no server of ours sits in between and keeps a copy of your requests.
Your settings are local
PaperBridge remembers small preferences — your language choice, pinned tools, tool order, and recent papers — only in your own browser's localStorage. They never leave your device, and you can erase them at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.
Outbound links
The directory's whole job is sending you elsewhere: every tool here links to a third-party website, or opens that service for the paper you chose. Once you leave PaperBridge, the destination site's own privacy policy applies, including any cookies it sets. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for how they handle your data.
